Do some research. A good idea when choosing a topic is selecting one that you can easily research. These days with the Internet  doing research is a lot easier.

Now you can begin writing.  You very first paragraph should be an introductory paragraph which should give the reader a  good sense of what is going to be covered in the essay.  This paragraph will also set the tone of the essay. After the intro, each paragraph should have a topic sentence and information to support that topic sentence. The final part of your essay is the conclusion. In your conclusion you need to sum up what was covered by the essay. Avoid being repetitive though.
