Towing a car is not something you do every day so when or if you do find you need to tow a car it pays to know what to do. There is a correct way and a wrong way to tow a car. This hub has some useful easy to follow steps on how to tow a car.

How To Tow A Car

It is best to use tow straps that are actually rated for the load you are towing. After all you do not want a strap to break.

To avoid steering wheel lock make sure the ignition key is turned on. You should also turn on the hazard blinkers.

Release the hand brake and make sure that the transmission is not engaged.

Because the engine will not be one the towed card will have much more of an effort with braking and steering.

To avoid jerking you need to maintain tension on the tow rope.
