40Checking Oil In Your Car
It is important to know a little bit about car maintenance and care. One thing it is handy to know how to do is checking your oil level. This hub will teach you how to check the oil in your car.
How to Check Your Cars Oil
Find a suitable old rag or cloth for the job.
To gain access to your engine release the bonnet.
Find the dip-stick handle. It should be easy enough to spot.
There is likely to be oil on the dip-stick so give it a wipe with your cloth.
Now put the dip-stick back in making sure it goes in all the way.
Now take the dip-stick out again. What you are looking for is that the oil is between the minimum and maximum marks on the stick.
Should the oil level be below the minimum then you need to top it up. Make sure you use the correct oil.
Once you have topped up the oil then repeat the above steps. Replace dip-stick and close bonnet (hood).
