The artist stool is the most basic kind of bar stool. This type of stool has a round seat that is fixed on top of a stand which is adjustable. This stool is very versatile as you can easily adjust your position on it from sitting, leaning and standing. Another type that is similar is a backless bar stool. Usually though these are not adjustable. In smaller spaces you will find backless bar stools to be the most convenient.

The swivel top is often a feature of bar stools. Usually the swivel top will either go around 180 degrees or the full 360 degrees.
